These programs are great to help you prepare for your future and they will also help throughout your high school education. Avenues for Success, Cardinals Interact, and Aaron Price Fellows Program are really great programs that will help you in so many aspects of school, including personal issues. They are always there to help you even to guide you in a positive direction.
Avenues for Success is a college enrollment program that works to expand college access among historically underserved students and to create competitive college applicants. Avenues for Success not only works with High School students but they also work with middle schools such as Wilson Middle School and Monroe Clark Middle.
Alan Figueroa is a senior at Hoover High School who is a part of AFS, he has been in this program since his Freshman year. Alan joined AFS because he believes that AFS helps students get into college with greater ease and that they also help students have their future properly planned. Alan states that AFS helps you in your education because they guide you through planning an education that creates a pathway to graduation and college.
The benefits of AFS are the experience and knowledge you gain regarding the different paths you can take in life, another benefit are the people who are always ready to guide you through those paths In AFS. AFS connects to Cardinal Pride because of the concept of being proud of all the things you have and could achieve if you continue to develop your skills.
Another program is Cardinals Interact and this program is a college preparatory program that helps you with your studies and allows you to explore different career paths. Adam Naleye is a Senior at Hoover High School who joined CI because his older siblings recommended him to join. Adam also saw how much his siblings benefited from being in this program which gave him more of a reason to join.
Cardinals Interact offers tutoring everyday of the week to help with their classes. If Adam ever has any trouble he always turns to the CI office to get it solved with the help of the tutors. The benefits of Cl are all the opportunities they give us. They show them different career paths they can take, they also take them to visit universities, offer college application help, et cetera.
The final program is Aaron Price Fellows Program is a program that teaches students to become responsible, engaged and caring members of the community. The Aaron Price Fellows Program is a program that accepts students who are 9th graders and only 9th graders. Throughout your high school year you participate in community service in engaging ways. This program also allows you to become an Aaron Price Fellows alumni after graduating from the program.
The benefits that you gain from being a part of this program is that you get to apply for scholarships and a stipend. Aaron Price Fellows program was established in 1991 to honor the death of Aaron Price, son of Robert and Alice Price. Aaron Price passed away in 1989 at the age of 15 after a long battle of cancer.
