Senioritis happens to a lot of students in high school and even here at Hoover it happens to many of our senior and even junior students.
I personally have and still am going through senioritis. I don’t know when it started but I just didn’t have any motivation to do anything, homework or even attending class because I really was just stuck and didn’t have any want or motivation, but I know this year is important and if I slack off, I won’t be able to graduate.
I think everyone that is feeling that way should try to go to after school tutoring and ask for help from other peers because seeing other students work hard makes you want to too. I also know that you should make time for homework and apply to things that will grant or help your future. This is the time to not make mistakes because it will affect your future, and might keep us from graduating if we don’t get out of being stuck in a loop of not doing enough. We will not make it in life, so change is needed.
Studying is something I never did but this year, I will be studying so I don’t fall behind again. I will think about the goals I want to achieve so that I can know what I want and try to make it happen. I know that this year has been hard for us all. We want to give up, we are too stressed out, our boyfriends or girlfriends are always making us stressed, and the weight of all the expectations, especially family, are finally weighing us down.
We feel all this pressure on us to succeed that it scares us. We don’t know if we can do it even if we try, so we give up. But the reality is we have to try because we have dreams and places that we want to go. Just because we are scared doesn’t mean that should stop us from being the best we can be.
