In teenagers’ lives, they tend to believe that what is most important is a reputation that will make them blend into society’s standards. But what’s often dismissed is the impact one’s culture takes to make a person who they truly are.
Culture is the most significant factor in everyone’s life and it often values significance for everybody. Not only by tradition but by the connections in the communities. Feeling protected and feeling safe in your culture shows how passionate and joyful it is.
This is very important since culture impacts many teenagers by the influence and inspirations. However, some teenagers believe that it’s embarrassing to express themselves. Little did they know, culture comes from historical events till this day.
Comforting meals, beautiful language, music, and celebrations is what makes everyone connected, not by strangers but as a family all together. This is the reason why it’s so important to be able to express ourselves. Moreover, we are able to be ourselves more comfortably.
Not many people realize how beautiful it is to have a culture. That’s passed down in many generations to keep it alive. Each beautiful culture describes the person who they are. I believe that it’s not okay to force people nor students to not express themselves when it comes to their traditions and speaking in their language.
Without the culture, there wouldn’t be joy nor satisfaction in having a feeling of expressing that small part of themselves. The feeling is like a missing piece of who they are. For me, culture made me become who I am. I love sharing parts of my culture to my friends, showing them how to enjoy food, music, and even the festival. The celebration that I’ve shared is the most unique and memorable memory I’ve ever made.
