Whenever my family and I, or friends feel like going out for brunch, our top pick is always Cocina de Barrio. With 3 locations open in San Diego, all three are very popular.

Cocina de Barrio is known for their amazing and authentic Mexican dishes. Some of my favorite dishes are the Chilaquiles Verdes, Enmoladas, and their French toast. My number one dish would be the Enmoladas. The authentic taste of Mexican mole with the perfect hint of spice gives you that feeling that you’re sitting at a local restaurant somewhere in Mexico. It comes with a side of breakfast potatoes and eggs cooked to one’s liking. They also have a spicy oil-based sauce, usually known as salsa matcha. With the right amount, it gives your food the perfect hint of spice and is super flavorful.

Portions for all plates are pretty large and priced reasonably. The drinks were also very eye-catching and delicious. Out of the many options available, one of my parent’s favorite’s is the popsicle margarita. It includes a margarita and a popsicle on the side. You are able to pick your flavor from the many flavors of popsicles they have. My personal favorite is the Jamaica popsicle with a virgin lime margarita. Another great thing about this place is that mocktail options are also available!
Overall, the setting in this place is very aesthetically pleasing and the customer service is superb. I would give this place an overall rating of 10/10, definitely.
