Owen Castillo is a 17-year-old Hoover student, and part of the AHHC academy and the Hoover varsity basketball team.
This is Owen’s first year on the varsity basketball team, and so far, he has made it a long way. He has been enjoying the love of the sport since the 5th grade, and ever since he couldn’t get enough. When playing high school basketball, Owen has estimated to around 15 rebounds each game, allowing the team to multiple victories so far in the season. Another reason he loves basketball is because of the many players whom he has connected with through his time playing, and the friendships that will carry on with life. Someone Owen looks up to during this many years of loving the sport is the G.O.A.T, LeBron James. James helps him to stay locked in and positive with the tough games he has so far played in.
Besides basketball, Owen enjoys playing music to help him focus on his studies. He likes to hang out with friends in his free time, and reads different types of books. After high school, he wants to attend a four-year university and major in business which will help him succeed further in life.
“If you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way,” is a quote he wants to inspire others.
