Evelyn Reynosa is a 17 year old junior at Hoover High School who has shown passion and commitment to wrestling.
This year is Evelyn’s first year wrestling and has shown incredible performances as an athlete. She says her friends were one of the reasons that motivated her to join and staying fit was another a reason for her to join. She says she loves putting effort and challenging herself to new heights. Although wrestling has come with some challenges, she’s managed to keep on going and pushing herself through with some motivation from those around her and her fellow teammate, Alica. Evelyn says that the support that she gets from her teammates really helps her become the best version of herself. Besides wrestling, Evelyn also participated in Hoover’s girls flag football team and it is her first year playing that too.
She is currently in the AHHC academy and proves herself to be an excellent student by being involved with the school and staying on top of her school work. She says even though she is constantly occupied with sports duties she still manages to complete her homework on time and gives it her best effort. Evelyn states that during her freshman year and sophomore were the best versions of herself and this year she has been working to improve and become a better student which she has proved herself to be. After high school she hopes to go to trade school or a community college.
One quote that she enjoys saying often is, “Don’t be the sheep, be the goat.”
