My favorite movie that I’ve seen more than one time is Cloverfield. I enjoy watching this movie because it has the camera shooting style of a first-person raw footage.
The entire movie is shot to mimic the feeling of being filmed with one single person camera. The suspense of what’s going on and what could be terrorizing the city. I like watching horror movies that have the fuzzy low detail camera quality because they just seem more realistic then if it was clean and high definition. Cloverfield is a found-footage horror film that follows a group of people trying to survive after being attacked out of nowhere by a mysterious creature. They struggle through buildings and underground tunnel systems to try and escape whatever is out to get them; it’s a horror action mystery until the end.

The actors play their roles extremely well. It fits very well with how the film is shot. The camera is first person so it’s giving up everything with an up close and personal touch. The quality of the camera is what you would expect of a handheld camera which gives it bonus points when watching this movie. The visuals in Cloverfield are fantastic. Everything from the lighting used to what the creatures look like interacting with the actors. The CGI effect for the creatures is another bonus because of how well they look.
You should watch this movie if you like the first-person film style and the unsettling nature of the events that happen during the film. The mystery and over worldly horrors that Cloverfield has is really stunning. Also including the intense suspense and nonstop action in the setting of New York City. Cloverfield is different from other movies that have huge monsters, unlike traditional ways of making a kaiju movie its more personal with the unique camera for the movie.
