Carolina Giraldo Navarro, also known as Karol G, is from Medellín, Colombia.
Karol G has won a Grammy and many other awards. She is also recognized as the first woman to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 with an all-Spanish album and was honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2024. Carolina’s career started when she was 16 years old. She was on a show called X Factor, and from there, she wanted to do more than that, so she signed with Universal Music Latino. The song that made her known was “Ahora me llama” with Bad Bunny.
Karol G’s philanthropy is focused through the Con Cora Foundation, which aims to empower and support women and girls by helping them realize their dreams and achieve economic, social, psychological, and artistic development. The foundation provides resources, scholarships, and programs for vulnerable women, including at-risk youth, low-income women, and formerly incarcerated individuals, and actively partners with organizations to support its mission.
Karol G has had tours all over, from the United States to Europe to Latin America. She has impacted women with the meanings of her songs. “Mana sera bonito” means “Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful”, that was a way of saying yeah, today wasn’t the best, but tomorrow will be better.
I love listening to her music because most of her songs are very positive and have good meanings to them. Since the second my mom started playing her songs, I realized her music was actually so good. I watched her documentary and she explained what she went through when she signed under a record label. It made me realize how hard it is to be a celebrity and how hard it is to reach for your goals. She brought up how small her concerts would be when she first started her career but now, she fills up stadiums. Even though I don’t plan on being an artist/celebrity, she has made me feel like if I try my hardest and keep pushing for what I really want I can get it and be successful.
