Video games tend to be a huge part of people’s lives especially minors that are in their adolescent phase. I know that parents tend to try to stray their kids away from video games and have them focus more on studying. As someone that plays video games quite frequently, I find it to be an outlet and a way to get away from the stress of real life.
Video games aren’t only a form of entertainment, they can teach you and shed light on many things. For example, the game Life is Strange explores the themes of identity and even mental health. As someone that loves every genre of games my current favorite to play is Elden Ring NightReign. It’s not only a game that has a beautiful lore and story behind it but it takes time and you have to strategize for each expedition and boss which tends to get your brain working.
I’ve always been involved in video games from a young age. I remember when I used to play on a Nintendo 64. I’d sit on the bedroom floor and just spend hours playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask or Mario Party. As I grew up my love for video games never faded. Video games have always been my solace and way to just relax since childhood which is why they’re very dear to me now. Sure, they get a reputation for being a bad influence, and some of them are. But I’ve met so many friends from playing games, that’s another reason why I love them. They help me make friends and get to know new people.
Overall, video games are so much more than just a form of entertainment for when you’re bored. They’re outlets for people. Video games can range from multiple things and each game has its own unique charm and way to hook people in. No matter what age you are, video games will always find a way to get to you.
