Rauw Alejandro

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, every school day The Cardinal will feature a prominent and historical Hispanic American, living or dead, who has worked toward change, advancement, and/or world peace. Some of them are heroes, and some are unsung heroes, who deserve recognition, and have made a contribution to society.
Rauw+Alejandro

Rauw Alejandro is a famous Hispanic singer, song writer and actor. He was born on January 10, 1993, which makes him 30 years old and a Capricorn. Rauw is Puerto Rican and has been a big part of Hispanic culture through his music. His music is considered modern Reggaeton which is really popular right now especially with the new generation, teens, young adults and so many more. People from all over the world listen to his music which covers topics such as love and heartbreak, but in an upbeat party music kind of way. He is currently on a world tour with stops in Mexico, the U.S., and Spain, and is still on tour so he will be going to many other places.

Rauw became known to the internet in 2016 after coming out with a remix of the song “todo” with Ozuna and Alex Rose. He was engaged to the famous singer Rosalia, and they created beautiful music together but after being engaged for three years they decided to take different paths and split up. Rauw wrote and produced a song, “Hayami Hana,” dedicated specifically to her, and people are now wondering if they will work things out and reunite.

His debut studio album, Afrodisíaco, was released in November 2020. His second studio album, Vice Versa, released in June 2021, featured the lead single “Todo de Ti”. He has won two Latin Grammy Awards from twelve nominations.
