Alina Nguyen is a sophomore at Hoover High School and a star player on the Hoover tennis team. She wanted to play tennis because when the team was recruiting, some of the upperclassmen got her interested in the sport. She was curious to learn how to play which got her hooked into tennis. Alina gets her drive from the motivation that her teammates and coaches give her. Having a great coach makes any sport fun and gives the feeling of a family. Alina’s plan after high school is to study to become a biomedical engineer, but if the opportunity presented itself, she would love to continue to play tennis.
Some of her hobbies outside of school include playing the violin and piano. Other sports she enjoys are figure skating and playing badminton. Alina is a leader who is very enthusiastic about all activities she engages in. There are three words that describe the kind of person Alina is: Passionate, Ambitious, and Empathic. Alina is also the president of the Cesar Chavez Club and a Mentor for the Wilson Middle Robotics Club.
