Zabiba Abdi, Staff Writer
Zabiba Abdi is a senior at Hoover High School. She has two siblings. She was born in Ethiopia and moved to Kenya when she was young. She lived in Kenya for 8 years and since then moved to the United States with her family for better opportunities. She speaks three languages: English, Swahili, and Amharic. Fun fact about her is she doesn’t know how to read and write in Amharic. Her hobbies are painting, writing, photography, and basketball. After high school, she plans to attend college and her dream is to be in the medical field. Her favorite subjects are English, and chemistry. Some of the after school clubs she is involved in are Girls Academy, Peacemakers, and Job Club. Zabiba is a hardworking and intelligent student and studies hard to pass all her classes. She loves adventure and likes to experience new things. She likes listening to music and her all time favorite singer/singers are Dean, Crush, and BTS, besides listening to kpop she enjoys different genres of music. She likes watching Netflix and writing in her spare time. In her freshman year, she wrote a children’s book for her English project and it was published. She plans on writing short nonfiction and fiction stories.
