Chloe Ly, Senior Writer
Chloe is a Vietnamese-American girl born on July 7, in San Diego. Although she is an only child, she grew up in a large family and has many cousins who she considers her siblings. At first, she may seem like one of the quietest people you have ever met, but you will find that she is full of laughter and stories as you get to know her more. She is currently a senior at Hoover High School and is involved in Key Club and First Gen Club. Once she graduates high school, she hopes to attend one of her dream schools, UCSD or UCLA, and become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Outside of academics, she loves listening to music, drawing, and watching shows in her free time. She enjoys exploring a variety of genres ranging from R&B, K-pop, to indie, and you can always find her listening to music 24/7. One of her favorite artists is Twice. Ever since she was little, drawing was a big hobby of hers and she would doodle on everything. She finds drawing to be a relaxing way to relieve her stress. Overall, she is a creative person who loves to express her ideas through art and graphic design, so she applied to become a designer for First Gen Scholars’ virtual club. Now, she helps to create infographics and templates for the club.
SWEETS! Chloe adores sweets and loves to indulge in desserts at any given point of the day. Fun fact: going out to try new dessert shops and cafe spots is a favorite activity of hers. She is a huge Studio Ghibli fanatic and finds comfort in rewatching the films, especially since they are nostalgic to her childhood. Her favorite movie of all time is Howl’s Moving Castle and she stands by the statement that it is one of the best animated films. However, in comparison to her interests, spending time with friends and family is a significant aspect of her life that fills her with joy.
